Baconism
From The Holy Church of Bacon
Baconism, more rarely Baconicism, is the study and worship of Bacon. Followers of Baconism may be called one of many Church titles (see title hierarchy), or the generic terms Baconist, Baconologist, Baconicist, Baconer, and Baconeer.
[edit] History of Baconism
Baconism evolved out of Bacotheism, the belief in a conscious creator resembling a pig or hog. Some translations reveal this creator to have been occasionally called the Hog Mother or Hog Goddess. Such beliefs disappeared into obscurity centuries ago. What remains of Baconism is a community of initiates striving for Baconlightenment. David Zemkie is the formost theologian for bacon theology. His understudies are working towards universal acceptance of the one true bacon.
[edit] Baconism Community
In late 2007, a Brooklynite by the name of Gene Tosmuk adopted the nickname "The Bacon Deity" in all forms possible. On Playstation Network (Bacon_Deity), on XBox Live (Bacon Deity), AIM (Bacon Deity), and almost every other service that required a nickname, even in real life he is referred to as "Bacon." By records, he is the modern prophet of Baconism; afterall, he is the Bacon Deity. He has been converting people on multiplayer games and in casual conversation in public to come join Baconism. As of now, he has a solid, yet short, "New York Bible," and has recently started a Steam [1] group by the name of Baconism.
He also stated, "You can argue with me who started Baconism, or whatever, but in the end we all love Bacon."
In 2009, The Bacon Institute [2] was founded as the "Myspace" of the baconism or baconist movement for people who love bacon.
