The Holy Church of Bacon:General disclaimer
From The Holy Church of Bacon
Baconic neophytes and old hands alike are cautioned that immersion into Baconism and especially into bacon itself, comes with certain risks. Those who have followed the Porcine Path can attest that it is sometimes covered in grease, making it difficult to navigate. Bacon itself - when not treated with proper respect or when not eaten promptly - can go bad, get cold and potentially lose some or all of it's former goodness.
Risks aside, there are those who claim that one does not really choose bacon - but rather, that bacon chooses the baconist, a sentiment conveyed by the famously uttered and somewhat fatalistic lament of Father Francis Bacon, "Lo, there is bacon. What can be done by a mere man except to consume it?" Or in more modern language: "Dude - there was Bacon. I HAD to eat it."
